Pacific is a contemporary reference to what was once also called
East Asia, and even earlier, the Far East. This group has in common
a more traditional sense of design with traces and origins in the East.

Rosen references the imported ideas, the flavor and idioms that
connect with Eastern artistic ideals; such as the use of asymmetry,
uneven surface textures, bold graphics, simplified forms and
the articulation of negative space.
